We also share heartwarming and funny animal moments that remind us how fortunate we are to call our beloved animals family members. We’re here to lend a helping hand as you navigate the incredible journey and privilege of loving an animal.
Our Team
We are a diverse group of editors and writers who are just as passionate about our pets as you are!
Mary Hawkins, Deputy Editor
Mary Hawkins is a dinosaur of sorts in the world of online media, as she's been writing, editing, and creating content since 2009. She's covered everything from entertainment to parenting to lifestyle, but her favorite topics by far are pets, food, and travel. She lives in a small town in Connecticut with her 18-year-old son and a pint-sized Shih-Tzu named Tito. When she isn't glued to her laptop and the weather cooperates, she can be found exploring one of the state's many hiking trails with her small but mighty partner in crime.
Genny Glassman, Writer
Genny Glassman is a writer who hails from Philadelphia. She is the aunt to a VERY energetic puppy named Moose. Her favorite things are books, crafts, making terrible bakes that would make Mary Berry cry, and flowers.
Diana Logan, Writer
Diana Logan lives outside the nation's capital, with a mother-daughter pair of rescue kitties and a ridiculous number of birdfeeders on the patio to entertain them. She has fostered dogs, worked at a zoo, and has a complete fascination with periodical cicadas.
Natalie Hoage, Writer
Natalie is a wife, mom, writer, and avid reader. She's been writing and creating content online since 2010. From pregnancy to parenting, home and garden, to food and entertainment, she's written for many websites and blogs. She's worked in social media for just as long and loves everything about it. Natalie lives just north of Atlanta, but she's a Southern California girl at heart. She spends her time cooking, gardening, and chauffeuring her 16-year-old son and twin 14-year-old daughters all over town so they can live their best lives. She's also 'Grandma' to the family's 4-year-old miniature rabbit named Jack and has adopted a feral neighborhood cat that they call Sir (although he hasn't adopted them back yet).
Gabrielle LaFrank, Writer
Gabrielle LaFrank aims to uplift and educate animal admirers in the most accessible, lighthearted ways. Throughout her career so far, Gabrielle has covered niche topics like mental health, relationships, and pet care--though none make her smile as much as covering Pet News. Outside of writing, Gabrielle enjoys crafting in a variety of mediums, attending hockey games, and quality time with her dogs: Carter the Cockapoo and Jack the Husky/Malamute.
