Yes, dogs can eat bananas. There are plenty of things about bananas that are good for dogs (such as fiber, potassium, and vitamins and other antioxidants) and no chemicals that are harmful to your dog. (1)

However, there have been some reports of bananas causing constipation, mainly if the peels are consumed in excess. I prefer to give bananas in moderation, so I only give my dogs about a third of a banana each once a day as a treat. If you do give your dog bananas, just give them a few pieces and enjoy the rest of the banana yourself.
