Have you decided to get a labradoodle, or are you are thinking about getting one? What is one of the most important things you are going to need to do? Pick out a name of course.
That is not always an easy thing to do. Labradoodles come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Like people, their personalities differ widely. They can be couch potatoes or faster than lightening.
Labradoodles have only been around since 1989. That's when a breeder in Australia bred a labrador retriever and a poodle in order to come up with a dog that might be more allergy-friendly for a visually impaired woman. Some people refer to them as "designer dogs."
Whatever you call them, they are super cute and they can make great pets.
Once you pick out your new pup's name, it is his or hers for good, so you want to make sure to take some time and pick out a good one.
To help you out, here is a list of over 200 names for labradoodles. Hopefully you will be able to find the perfect one for your new fluffy friend.

Not Sure How To Pick a Name?
It's not always easy to pick out a name for your new best buddy. Here are a few tips that might make it easier.
- Wait a little while before you decide. That way you can get to know your pup a little bit better.
- If it's a family dog, pick out a couple of names and let everyone vote.
- Let your pup decide. If you just can't make up your mind, lay out some treats around the house, one with each name next to it. The first one he chooses is his name.
No matter what name you choose for your labradoodle, you'll have a great friend.

Thanks Jill. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe. Our Max was the greatest and it was the first dog I had ever had from puppy to old age. It was tough losing him, but he was like that too.
Jill Spencer from United States on April 22, 2020:
What a fun article! I don't have a labradoodle, but one of our neighbors does. He's the friendliest dog ever and would jump in the car with anyone, including the mail carrier. His name is Dexter.
