Woman's Story of Getting Tricked Into Adopting a Special Needs Dog Is So Touching

She's giving him the best life ever.

TikTok user @simonsits is a foster parent who loved every single dog that she fostered, but she felt that none were "her" dog. That is until Simon. The two connected unlike any other and that's when Simon officially became a foster fail

But it wasn't until after she decided to keep Simon did the realities of his health kicked in. She woke up to him having a seizure. Vet visit after vet visit, Simon was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy and how she pictured their life together changed.

Aww, the love she has for Simon is bouncing off our screens. We know she must've been heartbroken at first to hear that her plans of road trips and hikes might not happen as often as she'd like since she had to dedicate all her time, money, and energy to looking after Simon. But, they found their rhythm, and four years later, they're doing all the adventures. She still gives him his nine medications a day and he still gets bloodwork and has seizures, but he's as happy as can be.

"He is living his best life with you! Bless you both," commented @gj6035. He's clearly so happy with her. The creator even responded by saying she's living her best life with him. Ugh, here come the tears!

She's truly having such a positive outlook and giving Simon everything he could ever want. Having a dog with canine epilepsy can bring up fear and uncertainty. Plus, all the expenses of getting a diagnosis and lifelong treatments. If your dog does experience a seizure, it is important not to panic, even though it might seem like it's lasting a lifetime. After the seizure, take your dog outside for fresh air and relieve his or her bladder. Observe your dog. Most should recover in 15 to 30 minutes to a day, but if there are repeated seizures with no recovery, go to the vet immediately.
