Beagle Schools King Cavalier Spaniel Puppy on How to Sit for a Treat in Adorably Aggressive Fashion
Big or little, if there's one thing that all dogs love it's getting a treat. Faith Housley is dog mom to an adorable Beagle named Dolly Pawton, and recently brought home a King Cavalier Spaniel puppy they named Mr. Claude. She shared a video on Tuesday, November 5th of the two of them sitting (kind of) for a treat, and it's the cutest thing you'll see today.
The video starts with Dolly patiently sitting waiting for her treat. Mr. Claude doesn't understand the "sit" command, and is jumping up on the couch, trying to get to his treat. Dolly does what she has to and shows Mr. Claude how to sit. Try not to laugh as you see how she does it!
I literally laughed out loud when Dolly helped Mr. Claude sit! Faith's video has been viewed more than 4 million times, nearly a million likes, and hundreds of comments. @_Lena10 got close to 100 thousand likes when she pointed out, "It’s giving “sit down damnit” from the older dog LOL!" @MandyMade99 got more than 66 thousand likes when she said what the Beagle was thinking, "“He’s sitting he’s sat”! LOL!" @Sol made me laugh when they said, "It sounds like you’re paparazzi trying to get a pic LMAO!" as did @holyshihtzu who shared, "Claude the Cavalier is a 13/10 name for a very distracted puppy!"
All About Beagles
Did you know that Beagles are notorious for their appetites? All dogs love to eat, but Beagles take it to a whole new level, stealing any food that they can get their hands on. They're known for being master food thieves! And thanks to their loose lips and low-hanging jowls, they're also big droolers and messy drinkers.
Beagles make great pets, and another Pet Helpful article describes them as:
- Beagles are always happy.
- Beagles like to cuddle.
- Beagles love kids.
- Beagles are extremely intelligent.
- Beagles have low-maintenance coats.
- Beagles are exceptional hunters.
I'm not sure I'd say that Dolly was happy in this video, but I'm sure the rest of the time when she's not impatiently waiting on a treat she is!
If you're looking for a quiet dog, you might want to skip a Beagle. Beagles are considered one of the louder dog breeds. They love to bark and howl...they are hunting dogs after all! IHeartDogs rates them as the Number 1 noisiest breed, even over Siberian Huskies! We had West Highland Terriers that pretty much barked at anything and everything, and it always drove me nuts!
One other thing worth mentioning about Beagles is that they're stinky. They have a natural musky scent that comes from their skin oils and sweat glands. Even after regular baths, grooming, and air fresheners, that scent tends to linger for many of them. It doesn't bother everybody, but they definitely have a distinct odor to them.
If you're considering getting a new pooch you have to consider the good, the bad, and the ugly about the breed instead of just how cute they are to determine if they'll suit your family's lifestyle, and if you can meet all of their needs (and live with their cons, too!)
