Bernese Mountain Dog's Jealousy Over the Cat Getting Snuggles Is Simply Irresistible
In all my life, I've yet to meet a single person who adopted a dog because they want an independent pet. Aside from working dogs and livestock guardian dogs, the vast majority of canines are just as eager for companionship as their humans are! The best part is that there's an endless number of ways for a dog to show their love.
Just ask Brue the Bernese Mountain Dog! This big girl is the definition of a 'gentle giant,' and she's always ready to prove it. When she caught her feline sibling hogging the attention on September 30, for example, she knew she had to jump into lap dog mode!
LMAO! This priceless video shows the accurate realities of a multi-pet household like @grizzly.bane's. In fact, their entire TikTok account is dedicated to their fun, fuzzy, chaotic life! This woman's large dogs are always up to something, and her spooky kitties have personality to spare. All in all, she's living the dream life!
Brue is living the dream life, too, once she's nice and settled in someone's lap. All it takes is a glance from her puppy dog eyes and she's got anyone under her spell! Only her feline sibling is immune to her charms, but they happily moved instead of getting caught in the middle of the snuggle action.
I agree 110% with commenter @jcb510 who said that a dog's snuggles are the "best weighted blanket ever!" It's true--service dogs can even be trained in a technique called deep-pressure therapy that uses their body weight as comforting pressure for their owner, so it's not a fluke to feel relaxed when snuggling with a dog. How sweet would it be if cuddles helped dogs feel the same way?
