Black Cat's Fascination with 'The Aristocats' Is Impossible to Resist
Cats are naturally curious creatures, and they are attracted to light and sound in equal measure, especially higher pitches sounds and fast moving lights.
Which probably explains why this adorable cat posted in a video on October 8 is so enchanted by the Disney movie The Aristocats.
The TikTok account for @maddogg444 shared the adorable video and it turns out that this cat is not the only cat who has strong opinions about this Disney movie. @Becca comments, "My cat HATES Aristocats and will bite me if I sing “Everybody Wants To Be a Cat”. LOL! @Blue adds, "Why does Aristocats entrance cats so much? My calico did the EXACT same thing at this EXACT part!!" @Nik says, "When I would leave for my college classes, I’d put the Aristocats Fast play dvd on so it would repeat and my cat LOVED it."
Cats have excellent peripheral vision and are more sensitive to motion than humans. The flickering and rapid changes in images on a screen can make it appear like there is prey or something intriguing to chase. Maybe that's why this cat is so interested! It has beef with the white cat Marie! To be fair, she is sort of obnoxious.
Not all cats respond to TV shows, and some cats have zero interest in watching anything regardless of content.
If you don't subscribe to the Disney channel, there are plenty of free videos online for cats, like nature videos that showcase mice, birds and squirrels. You could always try one of those and see if it interests your cat. At the very least, it's a fun weekend experiment to try with your fur baby!
