Connecticut Shelter Makes Plea to Find Foster Parent for Tabby Cat With Terminal Cancer

This sweet cat deserves a loving home.

Reeces the cat is just as sweet as the candy her name is inspired by. Just look at how she crawls into the arms of her shelter caretaker! In fact, her friends at @littleguild animal shelter in Cornwall, Connecticut, are working hard to find her a home where she'll get even more love and attention.

Unfortunately, this push to find her a home is because she was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. This tabby cat is only 9 years old and deserves to spend the rest of her life in luxury.

What a beautiful kitty! Reeces seems like the ultimate snuggle buddy for her forever owner, whoever they may be. Even though she's getting lots of care and love at The Little Guild, her shelter besties know how much she deserves to have a home of her own. As they said in the video, her final days shouldn't be spent in the shelter!

One commenter, @mistermatrix, made a great point when they mentioned the cost it takes to foster an animal. They said,  "I would love to take care of this beautiful kitty but I'm certain I wouldn't have the money to pay for the care she'd need." That's fair! In a beautiful twist of fate, though, Reeces' forever foster won't have to worry about anything. The Little Guild covers costs for all their fosters!

Even so, not everyone can handle the emotional intensity of being a hospice foster--and that's OK! There are plenty of folks like @olivia_alona who are ready and able to care for angels like Reeces.

"I am interested," she commented. "I am a hospice foster who specializes in medical cases." It sounds like she'd be a perfect fit in this person's home! There hasn't been any official update about a foster for Reeces, yet, but anyone who's interested can get more information and fill out the foster application on the animal shelter's website. We know they'll match this affectionate feline with the perfect forever home!
