Genius Trick for Keeping Cats Out of the Christmas Tree Is a Total Win-Win

The cats absolutely love it!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in houses across the country, and many homes are left with the struggle of keeping their cats off their Christmas trees.

Luckily for one TikTok user, there’s a simple way to do this: With a cat tunnel. Just wrap the tunnel around the base of your tree, and suddenly you have a cat friendly way to decorate for Christmas.

The cats are going to love it, as shown in the video. They will go underneath and around and take a long nap, never offering to bother the tree again. It’s a total win-win!

Hopefully, this would work in most households in deterring cats from actually climbing the branches and messing up the ornaments in the process. Most cats would go in and explore and probably go to sleep from there.

We could only hope this would work in every household, but there are surely some crazy cats out there who would totally bypass this and jump right into the tree anyway. This wouldn’t work in that case.

If you have calmer cats, this is definitely a great way to get some great Christmas photos. Catch your cat peering out of the little hole in the tunnel and you’ll have a perfect Christmas snapshot.

Cats will absolutely love this little Christmas hack. Since the tree is usually in the center of the room, they will be able to stay in the center of attention.

There is a lot of room inside one of these tunnels—so much that you could probably fit multiple cats in there. That would be adorable to see three cats in there just hanging out together.

This trick is great if you have small dogs who would like to tunnel their way under the Christmas tree, too. It would be great to see another species using this, and a small dog like a Chihuahua or Terrier would fit this perfectly.
