Shelter Introduces Their Cats With Zero Adoption Applications and They Couldn't Be Sweeter
Pets can add so much to someone's life, whether they're a clingy canine companion or an independent kitty. Even farm animals can provide love and fun in ways people simply can't--it's a fact! The unconditional love of a pet is usually attributed to dogs, but many species have the potential to adore you as much as you adore them. Just think about cats!
Even though some kitties prefer time alone, many of them have their own ways of telling their owner, 'I love you.' The very first way an owner can show a cat love is by bringing them home, though! That's why Hope for Brevard no-kill cat shelter began showcasing their feline residents on TikTok.
This August 19 video shows several sweet kitties with zero adoption applications in the Melbourne, Florida shelter. Hopefully, this moment in the spotlight helps them find their forever home!
Our hearts are shattered that these beautiful cats are still waiting in the shelter! Of course, the staff and volunteers are doing all they can to help these kitties feel safe and loved, but nothing can top the stability of a forever home.
So far, @hopeforbrevard has gotten nearly 400 thousand views on this hopeful post. Many commenters are sending love to the cats with zero applications, including @thatblondekaylaa who wrote, "shy kitties are the best ones!! They just aren't happy being in the shelter as if anyone would. Give them a chance ." We love that! It's true that pets aren't at their best when stuck in the shelter. Even once they go home for good, it takes time for everyone to adjust!
Many dog adopters are familiar with the 3-3-3 rule, which explains how long it may take for a rescue dog to adjust to their new surroundings. But did you know the same applies to cats? It can take 3 days for them to start letting their guard down even a bit, though by 3 weeks they should start getting used to their new space and routine. After 3 months, your rescue cat should start to show their true colors!
If you're in the Melbourne, Florida area and are interested in meeting a new feline friend, check out Hope for Brevard on Saturdays between 10am and 4pm.
