Cocker Spaniel Puppy Shares Sweet Reminder About How Much Dogs Love Their Humans
Sometimes us humans get so caught up in our days and being so busy that we forget to take a minute to show our fur babies love and attention. Alfie is a 5-month-old Cocker Spaniel puppy with a gentle reminder for all of us pet parents out there, and you might need a tissue for it. It's the sweetest video you'll see today!
Alfie's parent posted the video at the end of September. Though the video isn't long, it packs a powerful punch and sends a great reminder to all of us to remember how much they love us, and that we are their whole world. We truly don't deserve our canine companions!
Gah! I might have cried a few tears watching Alfie's gentle reminder, but they were happy tears! The Cocker Spaniel is adorable, and I love the way he tilts his head back and forth.... it's so sweet! Commenter @Meggan Jones said it best, "They always know how to make you feel special and loved!" They really do!
Is a Cocker Spaniel Right for Your Family?
Cocker Spaniels are affectionate, even-tempered, and loyal dogs. They're eager to please their owners, making training relatively easy. They grasp new commands and tricks quickly and enjoy training sessions. And let's not forget to mention how absolutely adorable they are! Just look at Alfie's sweet little face! Their long, floppy ears and expressive eyes are enough to make anybody fall in love with them immediately. While they do have a lot of hair, they don't shed as much as many breeds but do shed more than usual in the fall to prepare for the winter.
The American Kennel Club describes the Cocker Spaniel as "merry and frolicsome" - they're a happy breed! Their tails are constantly wagging, they always have a big smile to offer, and their cheerful personality make Cocker Spaniels a joy to have around. Because of this, they make great emotional support pets, too. They also do well with seniors, small children, and other animals. They also don't mind strangers, so they don't make the best guard or watchdogs. They want to be everybody's friend! It's also worth mentioning that they tend to bark a lot at both nothing and everything.
Cockers are active dogs that like to stay busy and require an hour or two of exercise each day. They were originally bred to be sporting dogs, so long walks, runs, and hikes are right up their alley if you're looking for a dog to exercise with. Long ago when they were working dogs, they'd spend all day out with their humans tracking and retrieving game, so they're used to walking for miles at a time. You'll probably tire out before a Cocker does.
And one more gentle reminder: Make sure that you do research before bringing any new dog home to learn more about their temperaments, exercise requirements, any health issues, etc. so that you can make an informed decision about which dog breed is the right one for your family.
