Corgi Helps New Puppy Escape From Cage and Lets Her Take the Fall for Huge Mess

He knew what he was doing!

Leaving a new puppy at home can be nerve wracking for pet parents. You wonder if they're scared, crying, or if you don't crate them, you might be wondering what they're getting into. Hammy is an internet famous Corgi who gets into a lot of trouble on his own. He recently got a new little sister, a Corgi puppy named Fiona, and he's already playing the role of big brother (which is adorably both good and bad).

Their dad posted a video on Tuesday, June 11th. Dad is getting ready to leave the house, so he puts Fiona in a fenced in area to keep her out of trouble. But Hammy helps her escape, and the two of them (well, really only one of them) make a big mess. Watch what happens when dad comes home and sees the mess, and who's taking the fall for it!

This is such a Hammy thing to do! Instead of dad getting mad at him, he made it look like Fiona was the one who tore apart the toy, and of course, how could dad be mad at her...she's just a baby! @johnathanstpete agreed, "Oh Hammy! Fiona will never be in trouble with that face!" @MissSusan said, '100% Hammy is A Troublemaker LOL!" And so many commenters mentioned the same thing, Fiona's adorable head tilt.

Do Corgis Make Good Pets?

Hammy is one of my favorite 'talking' dogs on social media. Him and his dad have the funniest and most relatable conversations. Unfortunately for the rest of us we don't get to have convos like that with our dogs. Their funny videos also make me want to get a Corgi! I didn't know much about the breed so I did some research to find out if a Corgi would make a good family pet.

Corgis are very intelligent dogs, which makes training relatively easy. They're good with cats and children and are full of energy and like to stay busy. They have short coats that are easy to care for, however they have a double coat and do tend to shed a lot. I mentioned that they're good with children, but these are herding dogs, so they will try to herd the kids...and that might include nipping at their little heels. The behavior can be corrected through training, but it's something to be aware of.

Corgis can become destructive when they get bored, so make sure you have toys and things that will stimulate them. They're very confident, and like to be in charge, especially with other animals that they don't know. The biggest con when it comes to owning a Corgi is that they love to bark (they're bossy because they're herders!)

When considering a new family pet, make sure to do your research about the breed. You just might find that the cons outweigh the pros of the cute dog you wanted to bring home. Barking for me is definitely a big no!
