Dachshund’s Excitement Over Duck Sibling’s Halloween Costume Is Just Too Cute

He wasn't sure what to think!

Dressing up our pets on Halloween is such a fun thing to do, though they're not always as excited about it as we are. But that's not the case for Milo the Dachshund his sibling Bubbles the duck. Bubbles got the cutest Halloween costume you've ever seen on a duck, and Milo's reaction to it will make you smile.

Their mom shared a video of Milo following Bubbles around on Tuesday, October 29th. Seeing a duck dressed up as a cow is udderly adorable (see what I did there?!) and Milo seems to agree. The look on his face and his wagging tail says it all!

This was just too cute! I was so surprised to see that Bubbles doesn't appear to mind being dressed up as a cow. I can also honestly say I've never seen a duck in a costume before, but I'm glad to be able to say that I have now! I'm also wondering why Milo wasn't dressed up...maybe we will get to see him next time!

Cool Duck Facts

Ducks seem like they'd be a fun pet to have around. They seem so quirky and goofy, and I think they'd be entertaining to watch. I've learned a lot writing about ducks and some of the facts are pretty interesting, so I thought I'd share some quacking good ones that I've come across.

For instance, did you know that ducklings start communicating with each other while they are still in their eggs, and all communicate to make sure they hatch at the same time? And did you know that not all ducks quack? Misfit Animals shared this fact, "Only female ducks quack, while male ducks make other sounds, often referred to as a raspy whistle." Not only that, but their quacks echo; the sound they make fades in and out, so it's hard to tell the first quack from the echos.

We lived in Indiana for a few years and had a pond in our backyard. As spring approached and the sun (finally!) melted away the winter snow, ducks would show up to swim in the ice-filled pond. I couldn't figure out why they didn't mind the freezing temperature of the water and after a bit of research I learned that ducks have no problem tolerating the cold, ice, or snow. They have no nerves or blood vessels in their feet which helps them to prevent heat loss. They literally cannot feel the cold!

If you ever approach a sleeping duck, you might notice that only one eye is closed. Ducks often sleep with one eye open to keep an eye out for predators. Ducks have extremely good vision and can see farther than humans can. Interestingly, their eyes can also move independently of each other - they can literally see two different things at once. Who knew that ducks are such interesting animals!
