Drum Teacher From Norway Turns Pet Noises Into Bonafide Viral Hits
I think a lot of us pet parents are guilty of making up songs about our pets that we sing to them for absolutely no reason other than the fact we find ourselves terribly amusing. Our pets? Probably not so much.
Well, one very talented drum teacher from Norway is taking this all a step further and creating amazing songs using sounds from animals on TikTok. Check it out.
The cat featured in the video is a very talkative orange cat named Cala who is known for her chatty nature.
TikTok users are here for Cala's new jam and someone posted, "I have no idea why I'm crying." Another added, "Holy crow!!! The most clever thing I've ever seen. Any more hits to come?? Maybe a Calico next time!!"
This is not the only time Harry The Drummer has created a song for an animal, because he also created one for a screaming husky dog .
And a very pretty bird named Angus.
Now for those of you with no musical talent whatsoever, like me, you can always use AI software to create your own songs for your dog and cats (Or birds) by giving just a few prompts.
My own cat loves to eat french fries then vomit on my rugs, so that's what I included in his song.
As hilarious as singing to your pets is, it may actually be beneficial to both them and you. The HumanAnimal Connection explains that dogs recognize your voice above all others, as has been shown in MRI brain scans. Parts of their brain light up when they hear their person's voice more than just random humans. It comforts them to hear your voice, and you can use singing to relax your dog when they are feeling some stress.
Katzenworld says "Research has shown that dogs in particular respond well to Classical, Soft Rock and Reggae music, with these genres having a calming effect and reducing stress levels. If you anticipate a stressful situation for your dog in the near future, such as fireworks, playing music within these genres can help ease the tension your pet is feeling and create a more relaxing atmosphere."
So the next time you sing a song to your own dog or cat, whether it's something you've made up just for them or an old-school classic, just reakize you are doing it for their well-being!
