Great Dane Chronicles Friendship With New Sibling Kitten & It’s Just Too Sweet

They make such a cute pair!

Bringing home a new pet can be a challenging time for a family, especially if you have older pets already at home. Finn is a Harlequin Great Dane who recently got a new sibling kitten...a tiny gray kitten named Art. The two didn't get along very well during their first meeting, but over the next day, something pretty amazing happened.

Finn's mom shared a video on Tuesday, October 8th that Finn narrates. He explains that since the two of them are really small (ha ha!) they were both scared of each other. Finn also thought the kitten might be food and admits to giving him a nibble. That didn't go over so well. But then, Art decided to give the relationship a chance and snuggled up and the two have been besties ever since.

How cute are the two of them together?! I just want to give them both a hug and watch them play some more! Fans agreed that Finn and Art make a perfect pair. @The Ace Fangirl joked, "I'm so proud of Finn snuggling up against that giant kitten while being so tiny! LOL!" and @Kelly G added, "They are adorable together!"

Can Dogs and Cats Really Live Together Peacefully?

Growing up we always had dogs and cats running around. I'm not sure why, but they always seemed to be able to figure out a way to get along without any major conflicts. That's not to say they never fought like cats and dogs; they were siblings after all!

Great Danes are one dog breed that gets along well with other animals, including cats. Some dog breeds get along better with cats than others, and so you'll need to research your dog's breed to see how they feel about felines.

Make sure to make introductions slowly and pay attention to each pet's body language. You know your pets better than anybody, so make sure to watch closely for signs of distress. If either of them is stressed out, separate them and try again later. And even after you think that the two of them are getting along just fine, it's best not to leave the two alone together - always supervise their interactions.

Make sure your pets have separate sleeping spots, and that the cat has safe places to go to get away from your dog, as well as having high places they can climb up to so they can hideout. Keep their food separate and feed them at separate times, as some dog breeds will show food aggression towards cats. With a little training and patience, eventually your fur babies may just become besties!
