Great Pyrenees' Reaction to Getting a Day Out of the Shelter Is So Bittersweet

The life of a shelter dog isn't an easy one, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few highlights during their stay. Whether it's creating a special bond with one of the volunteers, or being the center of attention during an adoption event, we love watching adoptable pets being pampered like the kings and queens they are.

Dog dad and TikToker Jonathan--AKA @aguyandagolden--does his part for shelter dogs by occasionally breaking one out of the shelter for a special day of fun and love. His most recent video is so bittersweet to watch, but Great Pyrenees puppy Cosmo couldn't be cuter!

Isn't Cosmo absolutely gorgeous? This big boy is going to be huge when he's all grown up, but he's going to be such a love bug, too. He's already so sweet to Jonathan, even though they just met! Throughout their short time together, though, Cosmo was cleaned, fed, socialized, exercised, and totally loved. That sounds like a win-win to us!

As Jonathan explained in the comments, "this is Shelter Dog Saturday. 10 episodes down, 9 dogs adopted with the exception of Cosmo, and one in a foster-to-adopt!" That's so amazing! With the help of all the viewers on this video, we have a feeling this Great Pyrenees pup will be next.

For anyone interested in taking a shelter dog out for a special day as Jonathan did with Cosmo, a quick Internet search will tell you if your local shelters offer this service. If so, you'll probably need to submit an application and pass a background check before. You might even need to register as a volunteer at the shelter, but it will be so worth it to make a difference for these animals. Of course, it can be heartbreaking to say goodbye at the end of the day, but the field trip you take together just might help them find their perfect home.
