Greyhound's Reaction to Finally Having a Back Yard Has Us Crying Happy Tears
When dogs are adopted as adults, they sometimes have a lingering fear of being left behind or given back to the shelter. Sudden changes in the dog's life can trigger these suspicions even if the family has no intention of giving up their doggo. Millie the Greyhound had these fears when her family packed up all their belongings to move, but she was in for such a treat when she saw their destination.
In the video posted on TikTok by @milliethenoodlehorse, the family is packing up to move for the second time since adopting Millie, a retired racing greyhound. The text on the video explains that moving is hard on Millie because of her fear of being left behind. However, Millie is unaware that they are moving to a new home of their own with a big, beautiful back yard to run and play in. When they arrive, Millie is cautious at first but quickly embraces her new space with a reaction that is sure to put a smile on your face.
Go Millie! Seeing her sprint around her back yard while being tailed by her sister, a pug named Dolly, is giving us so much joy. We know Millie felt so safe and happy when she rolled over onto her back at the end of the video.
Many people in the comments recognized how perfect their back yard is for dogs. TikTok user @bexxlexx said, "I know you bought this house based on the back yard for the dogs." Back yards are, of course, the most important factor to consider when buying a house as a dog owner! User @buriedinreverie said she hoped to do the same one day: "my only goal in life is to work hard enough so i can afford to give my dog a big back yard."
Seeing your dog experience so much joy is one of the best parts of being a pet owner. We know Millie will have many more happy years to run around this wonderful back yard!
