Video of Horse Saying Final Goodbye to Dog Who’s About to Pass Has Us in Tears
Any pet owner will tell you that when it comes time for our beloved animals to cross the Rainbow Bridge, it’s one of the most difficult losses we’ll ever experience. Between the unconditional love, joy, and light they bring to our lives, it’s so unfathomable to think of being on this earth without them. But pets don’t just have unbreakable bonds with their humans. They get attached to other animals in the family, too.
A new video that was shared on TikTok by @mrs_bamford will absolutely break your heart. The clip shows the family’s horse, Rosa, bending down to say one final goodbye to Meg, the family’s dog who is aging and is about to pass on. The way that Rosa tenderly reaches down to greet Meg is enough to make anyone burst into tears.
This is seriously one of the most heartbreaking videos we’ve ever seen, yet there’s something so beautiful about it at the same time. How wonderful that this family thought to take Meg to see her beloved friend one last time. As you can imagine, the TikTok community is incredibly moved after watching the clip. One commenter, @helenarice_x said, “Look at them loving each other. The wee dog raised its head saying, ‘I’m here.’ What a touching video. Friends till the last (moment).” Another TikTok user, @Laurie Corey, noted what a beautiful sendoff this was for Meg, saying, “Omg love this. What a lovely goodbye.” And @dp0259 added, “What a unbelievable, brilliant thing to do. 100% respect for your family.”
But it was the video creator who really put it best in the caption: “Two of the most gentle souls, saying goodbye for now…”
