'House Hippo' Pit Bull's Sweet Smile During Cuddle Session Is Beyond Precious
What we wouldn't give to have a house hippo! They are without a doubt the happiest of dogs. Another perk? They totally love being with their humans too! One Pit Bull was positively loving all the attention from her owner. Her smile is infectious too!
Nala is a true daddy's girl. There's only one person who can put a smile on her face and that's her dad!
These two love each other so much! If there's one person the Pittie can count on, it's her loving pawp. The two were having the coziest moment on the couch recently. Any pet owner can relate!
It wasn't just the snuggles that were too darn cute. Nala couldn't stop smiling. In fact, her smile was so wide as her dad gave her attention. She was a happy, happy girl.
"She's in heaven right now," her mom joked from behind the camera.
The Pit Bull really won over the comments section. They were so in love with her smile. "She literally is smiling like a person haha," joked one person. "I’ve never seen that big of a grin on a dog EVER," another person added. "She is so cute, I love how meaty she is," added someone else. "She is smiling SO hard," gushed one commenter. "My heart! I wish every dog could experience this love," chimed in someone else.
Can Dogs Smile?
When humans are happy, they smile really big! But is the same true for pups? Sort of. Dogs are very connected to us. That much is true! So they see that when we're happy we smile. That may not be a dog's innate reaction, but when they "smile" they're sort of doing it to appease us. It's not necessarily a bad thing! They just are mirroring what we do when we're happy.
Have you ever seen a dog roll around and show you their belly? Interestingly, dogs also smile when they want to let you know that they're not a threat. It's basically their way of letting you know you're in charge! Dogs might also flash you a smile when you want them to do something and they really don't want to do it.
Fun fact: dogs only smile at humans. They don't smile for each other and will use other body language signs to communicate their feelings to other animals. This is all to say that if your dog is smiling it doesn't mean they're not happy. But it's probably better to look at their body language. That's how you'll really know if your pup is feeling good.
