Kentucky Mom Stumbles Across Fluffy Calico Kitten on Her Property & Total Cuteness Ensues

She hit the jackpot!

Sometimes, the universe's signs and signals can't be any more obvious. These things that are meant-to-be will find their way to you, exactly how this fluffy Calico kitten found her way to her forever home. Her new mama, Kentucky mom Lori Sue, literally walked right up to her!

As she showed her TikTok viewers in a November 4 video,  the kitten was simply waiting for her to come by and take her home. The disbelief in Lori Sue's voice is almost as precious as the kitten herself, but nothing is as heartwarming as this baby's brand-new adoption story.

What a tiny kitten! It's hard to believe that she was just sitting in the middle of the road, but it's clear she needed a helping paw. This loving mama found her at exactly the right time, and now they're both doing better than ever. Little Petunia is getting help for her eye infection, and Lori Sue is thriving as the newest giftee of the cat distribution system.

"The cat distribution system has never picked or given me a kitten," shared commenter @jos.4.tidy, "so I went and adopted a cat myself and distributed myself onto my kitten." LOL! That's a fantastic way to look at cat adoption, especially since the distribution system isn't as generous as your TikTok timeline may make it seem.

Of course, even more video viewers are in awe of the Calico kitten's gorgeous coloring. Her spots of black and orange are as cute as can be, but there's no doubt that she'll look even more regal when she's bathed and dry. The rescue kitten's forever family brought her home to get cleaned up, and she's well on her way to a happy, healthy life. It's every cat's Happily Ever After!

Caring for an Orphaned Kitten

After the excitement of finding a stray kitten wears off, there are a lot of responsibilities to take care of! Lori Sue did the right thing by cleaning her up immediately, though a vet appointment should follow soon after. This way, she'll know if her new kitten needs any medications, vaccines, or treatments.

When raising an orphaned kitten, it's important to give them supplemented milk until about 8 to 10 weeks old. Then, you can begin transitioning them to a soft kitten food. Their ever-changing nutritional needs may keep you on your toes, but there are plenty of resources to help you on your way. Phew!

As Petunia's journey in her new home shows, taking in a rescued kitten can be the ultimate gift. If you put in the work and give them unconditional love, they'll show you the same love right back!
