Former Lab Rabbits Exploring Their Safe New Home Is As Heartwarming As It Gets
For their entire lives, Donna and Figaro the rabbits never saw the light of day. They spent life in a cage at an animal testing laboratory, and they were constantly used for animal tests.
The grim fate of a lab rabbit usually leads to a life of pain and suffering. But luckily enough for these two rabbits, they have been rescued. No longer are their days spent in the confines of a cage, but now they have a huge enclosure they call home. They were saved by Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in New York.
These rabbits will no longer know pain and suffering. All of that is turned to love at the sanctuary, where these rabbits are really living large. They have a little house to hide in and then have an expansive yard to explore and romp around in. They are really going to love living here!
While Figaro is very keen on exploring, Donna is a bit more reserved than him. That’s okay, though, because together they will explore the entire enclosure in time.
These rabbits are considered Red Eyed Whites, or REWs. That describes their albino-like coloring.
Donna and Figaro are really adorable rabbits, and are actually pretty large compared to some of the other rabbits there at the sanctuary. Despite their size, they’re just as lovable as any other rabbit!
We’re so glad these bunnies were rescued. They deserve to always feel safe and at ease. Their new home is a reflection of that.
While there are still so many laboratory rabbits out there just waiting to be rescued, these bunnies can serve as examples of what they can be after rescue. Donna and Figaro are so sweet and perfect; it’s no surprise that they have so many fans on TikTok.
These two rabbits are really great examples of what a pet rabbit can be.
