Labrador Retrievers' Focus on Mom Holding a Ball Has People Cracking Up
Dogs are simple — they see a ball, they beg. And we mean all dogs love them. There's nothing that your Spaniel or Rottie wouldn't do for an afternoon playing catch in the sun. Two Labrador Retrievers are also huge fans of a good game of fetch and were hilariously antsy waiting for their mama to get things started in a new video online.
Emma Hackett must know her dogs well because she turned her camera on and caught them practically salivating for the object.
The Irish woman calls her two pups her "diesel engines," and if you watch the video you'll see why. The two Labs, Millie and Harley, were panting so hard in the video the dog mama shared. Hackett held a well-loved tennis ball in her hand, while her two Labrador Retrievers sat by her side and were completely fixated on the object. Hmmmm, something tells us that they really want to play fetch, no?
"Plsss throw the ball," the woman joked in the caption, as if reading her two dogs' minds.
Commenters online were also perplexed by what the dogs wanted. "I think they want that green ball, but I don't know," joked one person. "You throw that ball right now," someone else demanded. "It's a mystery, what do they want?" another commenter wondered. "Glad everyone’s remaining calm here," one person teased.
Dogs and Tennis Balls
It's no secret that dogs love tennis balls. Right under their favorite stuffy and treats, tennis balls are basically your dog's favorite thing.
It's not just because tennis balls are used for playtime (although trust us, that is a part of a tennis ball's charm too). There are several other reasons why dogs are obsessed with them and many of them have to do with your dog's senses.
Have you ever opened a can of tennis balls? It kind of smells really good. Well remember that dogs have much better senses of smell than we do, so if you like the scent imagine how good it must smell to them.
Texture is another reason why dogs love tennis balls. Dogs understand the world through their mouths and tennis balls have a satisfying texture that they like to chew. Between the fuzzy coating that's on the outside of the ball and the rubbery inner core, dogs love to sink their teeth into tennis balls.
Hmmm, perhaps we're overcomplicating things. There are many reasons why dogs love tennis balls — they're just so much darn fun.
