Man’s Response to Being Surprised With Ducklings After Losing His Beloved Pet Is Precious

Losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult things, no matter what species they are. One amazing dad named Steve recently endured the loss of his duck companion, but his family rallied behind him to bring home not one but six baby ducklings. Luckily for us, they recorded the whole process on their family TikTok account, @thewamplerway. Trust us when we say the only thing cuter than these ducks is Steve's reaction.

This entire surprise plan was hatched by Steve's son, Joe, who not only adopted the ducklings but built them a hutch and pen all their own. Here's how he did it.

It didn't take long for viewers to request a video of Steve's reaction to meeting the ducklings, so of course, Joe had to indulge us. Boy, are we glad he did!

Congratulations on your new besties, Steve-- they love you already!

We love how he wheeled in to get a closer look as soon as he saw them (and we'd totally do the same), but nothing beats seeing one of the babies all snuggled up in his hand. We just love what @hhoney.bones.art said--"he was so excited I'm gonna cry!!! 🥰" Don't worry, we'll pass the tissues.

Joe asked for name suggestions when he posted the video, and the comments section did not disappoint. "Since they are his new FRIENDS: Ross, Phoebe, Chandler, Monica, Rachel, and Joey" were the names @hipsfish tossed out. Along the same lines, @esareyhouse recommended "Sophia, Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Stan." We're totally here for the sitcom references!

Other name suggestions were a little more...random, but equally as enjoyable. We got a laugh out of @eyes.ontheroad2021's  "Cheese & Quackers" suggestion, but "Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mo, and Doug" had us absolutely dying. Doug? Ok, sure, why not! Thank you @laurapiggins for the chuckle.

So far, the name suggestion with the most likes comes from @tleinhos1021: "Name them after fancy cheeses!" she suggested. "Brie, Gouda etc." Not only do we love this idea, but now we're hungry.
