Dedicated Pet Owner Spends Hours Creating a Mini Pile of Autumn Leaves For Her Tortoise

This is so creative!

Tortoises are some of the largest reptiles on Earth, and they're also some of the longest-living creatures. They can withstand several different climates, and they can make a fascinating long-term pet for truly dedicated owners. Even so, their slow speeds and low activity levels can trick people into thinking they're easy to care for. In reality, tortoises are a lot of work!

Luckily, there are many educated pet parents like Chas who know exactly what their tortoises need to thrive. Her leopard tortoise, Fig, has gone viral several times while helping his mom educate the world about his species, but this time he's gone viral for something much more fun.

Chas went above and beyond creating a pile of edible autumn leaves for Fig to munch on and romp through. It was the perfect way to celebrate the final days before winter starts creeping in!

OMG, how cool! Kudos to Chas (AKA @through.the.lleaves) for spending hours punching out leaf shapes from lettuce for her tortoise. That's a tedious task to say the least, but the cozy autumn vibes were immaculate.

It seems like the leopard tortoise had a great time, too!  He looked fashionable AF in his straw hat, and he munched on those leaves like nobody's business. Even if it took a long time to set up, this scene was so worth it to make everyone smile...including the commenters!

I was almost shocked when I started reading @onions4knights' comment: "Please do not put a hat over your tortoise’s shell. It will cause them to develop a sense of fashion and they will mock your clothing choices." LMAO--you had me there! With all the Internet negativity these days, I fully expected a problematic comment. But this was hilarious!

In fact, everything about this pet tortoise video radiates positivity, and I'm glad Chas took the time to make it. It was the perfect way to celebrate fall as Thanksgiving rolls around, but I can't wait to see what this duo does for the holidays!
