Mini Cow Making a ‘Big Jump’ Out of Truck Is Cute Beyond Words
Have you ever seen a mini cow before? If they sound absolutely precious, well... that's because they are. A video showing one mini Highland leaping from a truck bed is adorable — the little guy was so brave.
Hoyt is a white mini Highland cow that lives on a Colorado ranch. But his small size means that certain cow things are a little bit more difficult for him.
In all fairness, it was a pretty big truck that the mini cow had to jump from. In the clip from his TikTok page, it shows the rest of the herd of Highland cows leaping from the truck with ease. And then it was Hoyt's turn....
Let's just say that Hoyt took it at his own pace. He was a little apprehensive to make the leap, but then he kicked off and totally stuck the landing. Go Hoyt, go!
"That's a big jump for the little guy!" the text overlay reads.
Little Hoyt had some big fans in the comments section. "Good job buddy! He should get a treat and I’ll give him some cuddles!" wrote one person. "At least 15 feet of air on that jump," another person teased. "Wait for me, I have little legssss," chimed in another commenter. "One small step for cow... one giant leap for cowkind," added someone else.
What Are Mini Cows?
You've probably heard of teacup poodles or mini pigs, but mini cows have only started to grow in popularity. Many people aren't aware that cows came be this tiny. So it begs the question, what the heck are mini cows anyway?
A teacup cow is a miniature cattle that is significantly smaller than a standard cow. Unlike their peers, mini cows are usually only 36 to 48 inches tall and normally weigh between 500 to 800 lbs. — which is small, cow-wise. Some mini cows might even be as big as your typical household dog.
These animals aren't usually used as livestock, but are seriously popular because of their gentle nature and adorable size. However that doesn't mean they can't earn their keep. Mini cows are dairy-producing animals and tend to use less land to keep them happy. A big win for farmers with not a lot of space.
People like mini cows because they're intelligent, friendly, and social. They do have a stubborn side, but for the most part are very gentle. You also have to worry about predators at their size, as they are often too small to defend themselves.
All in all, mini cows are pretty much a dream animal. As Hoyt himself definitely proves.
