TikTok user @maddieemorris decided it was time to teach her Mini-Dachshund puppy how to swim. We've literally haven't seen anything cuter, or smaller, than this in a pool. One look at this puppy's first swimming lesson will melt your heart like a popsicle. Take a look!

As much as we would love to get our dogs swimming in the pool, not all dogs like the water. Heck, not all dogs even know how to swim contrary to popular belief. Luckily, there are other ways to keep your dog cool during the hot summer days. Always make sure they have enough room-temperature water. You do not want to keep their water bowl in the blazing hot sun. Another must when keeping your dog cool is to provide shade like kennel covers, tarps, or umbrellas. Instead of using a big pool, you can try a kiddy pool to see if they enjoy splashing in the water. But if not, you could also purchase misting fans or cooling dog beds and collars. Always remember, if you think it's hot, your dog is probably feeling it twice as much so please be very cautious this summer.
