Maine Coon Kittens' Sweet Sleeping Twitches Make People Wonder What They're Dreaming Of
When you watch your pet sleep you might notice that sometimes they twitch or make little noises and you can't help but wonder what they are dreaming of. If you own a dog you may wonder if they are chasing squirrels or dreaming of going bye bye. When you watch your cat you wonder if they are stalking birds or dreaming of being petted.
It's hard to imagine what newborn kittens dream of, considering they haven't been around that long to know much about the outside world and certainly not birds or hunting mice. But just watch this precious litter of newborn Maine Coon kittens sleeping and it will make you think they must be dreaming about something.
@Wildmane_mainecoons shared the sweet video to their TikTok account and everyone is enchanted by these little kittens and their sweet twitches.
One person commented, "Oh my goodness they are dreaming!" Another added, "How precious, the way they move in their sleep." Someone else replied, "I want one!"
Someone else asked a question that a lot of us are thinking with, "The fact that they are shaking means that they are dreaming about something, I wonder what?"
Certain studies show that dogs may be dreaming about the humans who love them, so why should cats be any different?
Considering these babies are so tiny, I'd assume they are dreaming about their sweet mama and their litter mates. They are all just too adorable.
Fun Facts About Maine Coons
As the proud cat mama of a Maine Coon, I can tell you these cats are very different than normal cats. My Maine Coon is more like an overeager puppy. Here are some other fun facts about Maine Coon cats.
Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds. Males typically weigh between 13 to 18 pounds, while females weigh between 8 to 12 pounds. At seven months, my cat Meatball weighs 15 pounds and his mama weighs 25 and his dad weighs 35. He's probably going to be a big boy when he stops growing at four years.
Maine Coons do meow, but they also make these very odd sort of trilling noises when they are excited. If I ask my Maine Coon a question he usually answers me with one of these chirps. He also trills when he jumps, when I feed him or when he's playing.
They are super affectionate and get along well with other cats and dogs. They are just the best cats ever, in my opinion!
