In dire times of need, sometimes help comes from an unexpected source, which was exactly the case last week when Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love stopped traffic to save a dog who'd been left for dead in a hit-and-run accident. The pup involved is a Miniature Pinscher named Harley, and she serves as a beloved companion and emotional support animal to a man named Bob Flor Jr. He explained what happened to Harley to Cleveland's Fox News 8, saying "I saw a car turn around and make a U-turn and started coming up real slow. I said, ‘oh no, something happened,’ so I opened up the door wider and looked out and… I saw her on the floor by the edge of the driveway, about a foot away from the driveway. She was lying flat down and I thought she was dead."
Luckily, the man in the car making a U-turn was none other than Love, who saw the injured dog lying in the road after he left basketball practice. He stepped in and blocked traffic to make sure Harley got the help she needed, and is now being hailed a hero.
Flor is no doubt eternally grateful to Love and credits him with saving the dogs life. He explained how much Harley means to him to Fox 8, saying, "I don’t know what I would do without her. I mean, she keeps me company, cries when I’m not around, that’s it. The love of my life."
While Harley has a lot more healing to do, she's thankfully going to be ok, thanks to Love's swift action. He's just as thrilled to hear that she's on the road to recovery as anyone, and he shared his well wishes for her on Twitter.

What a stroke of luck that Love happened to drive down Flor's street that day. Can we all just go ahead and agree that the world needs more people like him?
