While everyone is gearing up for Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, February 13th, let's not forget another important event that's taking place that same day! We're talking about Puppy Bowl XVIII! Yes, everyone's favorite puppy battle is back, and it will air on February 13th at 2:00pm ET on Animal Planet. It'll also be streaming on discovery +.
Here's a special preview of Puppy Bowl XVIII from the "Ruff-eree" in charge, Dan Schachner. He's showing off one of the stars of the show, Spinach Dip, who happens to be up for adoption from Muddy Paws Rescue in New York City.
While the event is worth tuning in for simply for the cuteness overload, it's the cause behind the Puppy Bowl that we should really be cheering for. As Schachner stated in the video, roughly 1500 dogs involved in the Puppy Bowl over the 18 years it's been running have been adopted. But it's the fact that the shelters that work with the Puppy Bowl also see upticks in adoptions that is really making a difference for animals in need.

This year's game is extra special, too, since they have the highest amount of special needs dogs participating. Dogs with special needs often go overlooked in shelters and rescues, so it's wonderful that the Puppy Bowl raises awareness and shows just how capable these pups are and what wonderful family members and companions they make.
Celebrity guest stars Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, are back this year as the dynamic duo coaching the puppies. Team Ruff will be coached by Martha Stewart, and Team Fluff will be coached by Snoop Dogg. Be sure to tune in for the big game to watch these littles and see if Team Ruff or Team Fluff takes home the trophy this year. We can't wait!
