Oriental Shorthair Cat's Bizarre Nightly Routine with Dishwasher Delights Millions
There are so many reasons to love our feline friends, from the ways they show their love to the quirks that make them unique. You'll never meet two cats who are truly identical, no matter how matching they may appear on the surface. Every kitty has their own routine and preferences, just like Nacho, the Oriental Shorthair cat.
These cats already look a bit unique--even human-like--but one of Nacho's daily habits proves he's a feline through and through. Cats are pros at getting warm and being in the way, but this routine checks both off the list! Check out his adorable antics in the now-viral November 20 TikTok video:
OMG--look at those long legs! I can see why the Oriental Shorthair's owner called them 'salad tongs.' They may be delicate and spindly, but Nacho's legs also help him prop himself up next to the kitchen's steamy space heater. This sleepy, adorable cat has no idea what a dishwasher's true purpose is!
"Daily self-care is so important," agreed the social media mastermind behind @google. That's right--even Google commented on this cat's unusual routine! They do make an excellent point, though: felines are self-care masters. Whether they need a nap in the sunshine or a rousing round of playtime, nothing will stop them from getting it!
Naturally, viewers were just as obsessed with the cat's gorgeous looks. Oriental Shorthairs are known for their distinct faces and long limbs, which look a little silly from every angle. Some of the people and things commenters compared Nacho to include:

Oriental Shorthair Cats
Not many people get the chance to become familiar with this cat breed, but the cat owner behind @orientalhonks knows the ins and outs of these kitties like the back of their hand. That's because they have four Oriental Shorthairs! The sibling cats love to show off their honking meows and 'crispy' mewls, but their favorite things to do are playing and spending time with Mom.
This breed is the cousin of the Siamese cat, though Oriental Shorthairs can come in a wide variety of coat colors. These cats extremely affectionate and social, and they may even start a conversation!
Nacho and his siblings are always up to something, but it's a treat to watch the ginger cat relaxing by the dishwasher at the end of the day. It's no wonder why this is his new favorite routine!
