Pit Bull Fakes Being Sick to Go to Work and Get ‘Unlimited Scratches’ From Co-workers
Does your dog ever pretend to be sick, tired, or injured to get out of doing something they don't want to do...or to be able to do something they want to do? I've seen so many funny TikToks of dogs faking it just to get what they want, and it always makes me smile. Sir Bacon is a Pit Bull and Boxer mixed breed pup who knows how to get mom to let him go to work with her, and that's by pretending not to feel good.
Sir Bacon's mom works at a veterinary office or animal clinic, so when he gets to visit, he's surrounded by humans who love animals. He gets all the attention and unlimited scratches from the staff, so why wouldn't he want to visit?! Watch on as the happy boy enjoys all the attention - and scratches - that his friends have to offer.
Sir Bacon had the time of his life at work with mom and her co-workers! I think he forgot during all the fun that he was supposed to be sick! Commenter @Wonderkid8896 agreed, "That “and it worked!” smile LOL!" @Kitty pointed out, "100% not guilty. That poor baby is so sick, I'm gonna prescribe a whole week with mommy at work!" and @Yesenia added, "That baby looks so sick mom he needs another day in the office!" Sounds like everybody is Team Bacon!
Why Do Dogs Love Getting Their Butts Scratched?
Sir Bacon was thrilled with the unlimited butt scratches he was getting, and there's good reason for it. Dogs rarely turn down any kind of petting or scratching, but the butt scratch takes the cake. But why?
One of the big reasons is that the base of their tail is extremely sensitive because it's full of nerve endings, so having it scratched feels that much better than a scratch somewhere else. Pawsafe shared more on the subject, "Dogs like a scratch on the rump because this area, like their back and neck, is hard to reach for them to scratch themselves. Scratching this area relieves any itchiness, removes dead hair, and boosts their feeling of well-being because of the physical contact with their humans."
And Dogster chimed in with, 'Due to the way a dog’s body is built, their butt is a hard spot for them to reach on their own. It’s like when you try to scratch certain spots on your back, and you can’t exactly reach them. So, maybe they have an itch back there that they can’t normally reach and scratching it for them just feels good and offers some relief from their itch."
If you have an itchy dog or a dog with allergies, they'll take a scratch anywhere that they can get it.
