Rescued Emaciated Pit Bull Puppy Celebrates 4 Months at Home with Heartwarming Transformation
Loving a dog is a heartwarming and rewarding experience, whether you bottle-fed them as a puppy or took them in as a sweet, sugar-faced senior. Four-legged friends are the most genuine souls you'll meet, and they'll be just as grateful to have you as you are to have them. It's the best of both worlds--especially if you rescue a dog!
Just ask the pups at @acrewofrescues! This little pack was already living their best life, but the family finally felt complete when a tiny rescue Pit Bull puppy named Roo came along. The sweet girl was emaciated and neglected but so full of love, and she's truly blossomed in the four months she's been home.
On October 28, Roo's forever family celebrated her fourth 'monthaversary' at home with a heartwarming look at just how far she's come.
What a precious little girl! This tiny rescue puppy has made incredible strides since arriving at her forever home a few months ago, but it wouldn't have been possible without her loving family. She has all the love, care, and cuddles she could need, and her four-legged siblings are the cherry on top! Her Golden Retriever sibling was her first dog friend after being rescued, and it's safe to say that they're still as close as fur siblings can be. It's just like the video mentions: in some ways, a lot has changed, but in other ways, not much has changed at all!
Commenter @adultingdoctor said it best when they declared this video to be the "Definition of 'to be loved is to be changed.'" This Pit Bull puppy's transformation has been nothing but magical! Although it can be bittersweet to watch any dog grow up, it's also a gift to watch them grow into the confident, loved dog they were always meant to be.
Caring For a Rescue Dog
Whether you're planning to adopt a dog or volunteer at a local pet rescue, it's important to know that no two rescue dogs have the same needs. So be prepared to be flexible! Some dogs, like Roo, may require round-the-clock care to address medical needs, but others may prefer to be left alone for a while so they can get used to their new home.
Canine experts recommend that new dog owners follow the 3-3-3 rule after bringing home a rescue pup. This explains how long it can take for rescue dogs to reach certain milestones, but remember--it's only a guide! As Roo proved, rescue dogs should begin to feel at home about three months post-adoption. Now that it's been four months since this sweet Pit Bull came home, she's enjoying nothing less than the lap of luxury. Congratulations, Roo!
