Moment Mama Dog Rescued From Puppy Mill Starts to Have Hope Is So Touching
Everyone loves adorable puppy videos--ourselves included--but far fewer people know about the dark side of dog breeding. There are many, many irresponsible 'backyard breeders' out in the world, and lots of their dogs are subject to inhumane conditions.
Thanks to the Colorado Animal Care Foundation, this poor mama dog and her puppies were rescued from a puppy mill. She may not have trusted her rescuers at first, but after a while, she learned that she and her babies were safe with their foster @adopt_a_pet_. It's a priceless transformation!
Aww! This mama dog seemed so afraid at first, but seeing her feeling safer and happier after just a few weeks is such a relief. A little patience and love goes a long way, and she's the perfect proof!
Commenter @cbeebee wasn't the only one who felt heartbroken seeing "her head down in the beginning." She was so shut down and afraid! Fortunately, this kind foster parent "changed her world, and she deserves that happiness so much." We couldn't agree more!
We also agree with @wehavebananasandavocados who said that this is "the reality of 'doodle' breeding." It's sad, but it's true. These mixed breed dogs were originally bred to be hypoallergenic guide dogs, but their popularity led to a rise in unethical breeding. There are countless other Poodles, Golden Retrievers, and Doodles who are still in puppy mills, so rescues like Colorado's Animal Care Foundation are more important than ever.
As @expiredroses explained, "I purchased a puppy mill mom when they couldn't breed her anymore. [She was the] best dog I've ever owned." How amazing! Once her puppies are old enough to find their own families, this beautiful mama dog will make the best companion for a loving owner.
