Senior Pup Surrendered to Seattle Shelter After Family Has New Baby Is Devastating

Her family totally gave up on her.

For 11 years, Pretty Girl the senior dog lived happily with her family in Washington state. That was, until they had a baby and decided to surrender her to Seattle Humane Society.

She was so taken aback by the entire thing, and surely misses her old family a lot. At the shelter, staff members make sure to keep her comfortable by snuggling her and petting her. Loud noises make her very nervous, and when the baby would cry at her old home, she would get scared.

We can’t imagine just how scary this all must be for the senior pup. She looks so loving and gentle. It’s heartbreaking that her humans gave up on her—but hopefully, she will find the best forever home out of the entire ordeal.

In a video of her posted on TikTok, Pretty Girl is shown leaning into the chest of a man at the shelter. She is so sweet and seems to really love this guy. “Pretty Girl is just looking for peace, quiet, and love,” the video caption read.

It’s hard to believe that this little girl is having trouble finding a home. She’s very cute but maybe comes off as shy to potential adopters since she isn’t in the most comfortable of spaces right now.

Since the shelter posted this sweet girl on TikTok, a commenter came forward saying that they were going to adopt her if she is still there at the shelter this weekend. We hope that the person comes through for her—that would be the best news!

Until Pretty Girl finds her forever family, the shelter is doing everything it can to make her comfortable and happy. Hopefully, she gets to spend a lot of time outdoors away from all the commotion within the shelter.

A shelter can be a scary place for a senior dog that has only ever had one home, but hopefully soon Pretty Girl will be leaving to go to a new home soon.
