Blind 33-Year-Old Senior Horse Never Leaves His Best Friend's Side

They're best friends.

Most horses typically live around 25 to 30 years—but one miraculous horse named Buddy living at a farm sanctuary in New York is living his best life at 33.

He may be blind, asthmatic, and arthritic, yet he still has a special pep in his step. And better yet, he has a best friend that he gets to share life with: MJ, another horse at Catskill Farm Sanctuary.

Buddy and MJ are the best of friends and hardly leave each other’s sides. It’s great that Buddy has a friend to help guide him through life. According to the sanctuary’s director, Buddy is goofy, affectionate, and loves to get attention from the staff members there at the sanctuary. He is a really great horse!

This super senior horse is all white and has an adorable pink snout. He saunters around as if he knows that he’s handsome, and it’s clear that he is a really handsome older gentleman.

Over the rescue’s history, they have saved many blind animals including Buddy. Sometimes, these animals will find themselves linking up with a sighted animal to help give them a better sense of where they are. That is probably the case with Buddy and MJ!

While they are pretty inseparable from each other, we’d love to see how Buddy interacts with the other horses. We wonder if they know if he is blind, or maybe they can sense it.

This amazing horse is a testament to the hard work that farm sanctuaries do to keep their animals happy and healthy. This blind horse is living such a great life now thanks to their efforts.

With a strike of luck, Buddy will live on for many years to come at the side of his best friend, MJ, munching on grass and soaking in the sun.
