Shelter Demonstrates How They Amuse Dogs in Quarantine and It's Everything

Sick pups can't socialize.

There's nothing worse than being so sick you can't be around your friends and family and you're required to stay quarantined in your room all alone. The same can be said for how dogs must feel when they get sick which is why the following clip is so wonderful.

Watch the following video from the TikTok account for @Richmondspcaofficial to see how they provide comfort, enrichment and activities for these dogs who are in quarantine.

The video description reads, "When dogs are sick, they can't binge a favorite comforting show or scroll Reels. We have lots of approaches to keeping boredom at bay while our shelter medicine team cares for dogs who are being isolated due to exposure to or symptoms of canine influenza. Our Canine Enrichment Specialist Alex Dandridge spends time with each dog on in-kennel enrichment. He uses snuffle mats, kiddie pools, Kongs and bubbles to give them variety, entertainment and exercise. We're seeing that the dogs who began coughing first are already getting past the initial lethargy and loss of appetite and showing significant improvement. Our professional veterinary staff are also working with dogs who still need close monitoring but are encouraged by the recovery progress of most of our quarantined cases."

TikTok users are loving the special care and concern these pups are receiving and @Krista comments, "This is amazing!!! Thank you for providing the absolute best care and fun activities to these more than deserving pups." @Thai adds, "Bless you for doing this for the dogs that need this the most." @Mel adds, "Thank you Alex!! Please show him all the love."

We couldn't agree with that more. Thank you to wonderful shelter workers like Alex who go above and beyond to help these pups heal faster. They are just the best!
