Sweet Shelter Dog Keeps Getting Overlooked All Because She's Missing a Leg
Readers--meet Maci. This 3-legged rescue dog is a bouncy ball of love and fun, but she's still waiting for her forever home at Orange County Animal Services in Florida. Luckily, Maci's human friend Angela--an animal behaviorist who goes by @uniquelyk9 on TikTok--is here to help.
Angela made Maci a video to help her show off her fun spirit, and it's easy to see why so many viewers are smitten. Clearly, her missing leg means nothing to this high-energy pup!
You go, Maci! We could watch this happy girl hop and run all day long--and we bet her friends at the shelter feel the same way. Now to find her a loving owner who will let her run to her heart's content...
"I wish I lived in Florida," wrote commenter @ineffablelovechild. "I would totally adopt this cutie for my dad who’s also an amputee." That would be so precious! No one would understand Maci's differences better than someone who's in a similar position. If only pet transportation were easier!
Still, we aren't the least bit worried about Maci finding her fur-ever home. She's way too precious not to charm someone! @Aspen._.999 said, "Stop her little hops are so cute," and we couldn't agree more!
We thought the way she got around her kennel was impressive, but when she ran--we were blown away! Clearly, she's a girl on a mission when she needs to be.
"I have a tripod doggo," said @emberfire13. "and let me tell you, when he wants to, he runs full speed like a motorcycle taking a sharp turn around a bend." LOL! Maci's future owners are going to be in for a treat. And guess what? They may find out about all of her little quirks sooner rather than later. Maci is no longer listed on the Orange County Animal Services Website!
