Golden Doodle's Attempt to Catch Squirrel Is a Real-Life Cartoon

It's like the squirrel knows exactly what he is doing!

A Golden Doodle is absolutely getting owned by a squirrel who is giving him the absolute runaround in the following hilarious video. The poor dog is just trying to chase him and he can't figure out what the squirrel is doing.

Around and around they go. You can't help but think that this squirrel is teasing this poor dog on purpose. It's like he knows exactly what he is doing!

The hilarious video was shared by the TikTok account for @Scott1126 and one person summed up my feelings perfectly with "I could watch this all day." Another added, "My doodle finally caught a squirrel. Had him in his mouth. And immediately stopped. Opened his mouth, and released him. He genuinely didn’t know what to do with it."

One person said, "Squirrel is like I only live once, I got to keep this up until he gets tired!" It really does seem like this squirrel is playing tag with the dog but winning every time.

Another person replied, "My Italian greyhound catches them then doesn’t know what to do with them."

Our dog wouldn't be able to catch a squirrel because he is actually about the size of a squirrel but it would really upset me if he did!

What To Do if Your Dog Actually Catches a Squirrel

Remain calm.

Remain calm.

It's a lot of us dog owner's worst nightmares, our dog actually catching a squirrel and injuring it. If this happens to you the most important thing you can do is remain calm!

If your dog catches a squirrel, it's important to handle the situation calmly and carefully to ensure the safety and well-being of both your dog and the squirrel. That means no screaming and waving your arms around like I would be prone to do!

First off, separate your fog from the squirrel. Hopefully your dog knows the command for drop it or leave it. When your dog drops the poor squirrel move your dog away from the squirrel or put them inside so they don't go after the squirrel again.

If the squirrel is injured but alive, approach it cautiously to avoid being bitten or scratched. Injured animals can be very bitey! Wear gloves and put the squirrel in a box with holes cut into it and contact your local wildlife rehabilitation center for advice on how to care for it or transport it for treatment.
