This cat really loves the baby like her own." Someone else replied, "Looks like they are doing great with their game! They figured it out just fine mama."
A lot of people think puppies are the best pet for a baby, but there are many reasons why cats make a fantastic playmate too.
Why Cats Are the Perfect Pet For a Child
Besides the fact that pregnant women shouldn't change the cat's litter during pregnancy (A family member or partner should absolutely take on that chore) due to contracting Toxoplasmosis, a cat or a kitten is a wonderful playmate for a child growing up.
You may have heard the myth about cats smothering babies in their sleep, and that's just what it is, a myth. Cats and kittens should be kept out of the nursery because not only are babies warm, but they also smell like milk, which may cause one to sleep close to your child's head, but no, a cat won't smother a baby. They may just get fur all over the crib.
Cats and kittens are great playmates for babies and children because toddler and babies can be taught to pet a cat gently, and the nice part about cats is that if a kid is too rough, it will either scratch them or run away.
Cats are generally quieter and less hyperactive than some other pets like dogs or puppies. Their calm demeanor can be soothing for kids.
A lot of cats are gentle and laid-back and can be very affectionate, making them good companions for young kiddos. Kittens, in particular, can grow up alongside the child, forming a strong bond.
As long as your baby or toddler interacts with the cat or kitten under adult supervision, these adorable fur babies can be a lifelong friend for your own human baby. Teach the child to be gentle when petting the cat and calm around them, and they can learn to be best pals.
