'Vogue' Magazine Unveils Special Digital Issue Devoted to Dogs and It’s Paw-Fect

They're calling it their 'Dogue' issue

Vogue magazine might be known for their high fashions, but their recent edition is getting a round of a-paws. The fashion mag recently announced a digital issue devoted to the "dog days of summer." And what better way to celebrate the final stretch of the season than with a photoshoot featuring some furry friends.

The digital edition was announced on August 15 and features 16 famous pets.

The legacy publication even got a very fitting rebrand for the occasion — Dogue. It's pretty much perfect we think.

"We decided to celebrate the sleepy, pre-fashion month dog days of summer with a special digital cover project; but rather than Vogue covers: Dogue covers," the magazine explained on Instagram. "We started out hoping to photograph half a dozen celebri-dogs, but everyone said yes and here we are with a dozen–16 if you count Anna Wintour’s three doodles and Mariah Carey’s trio of Jack Russell terriers."

People in the comments section were here for the pivot. "Please make this a regular thing!!!" begged one commenter. "The greatest edition of Vogue with the bestest models," another commenter praised. "This should be an ongoing series," someone else agreed. "Can Dogue just be its own thing please?" another commenter asked.

All About Dogue

Dogs and fashion might not obviously go together. Anyone who's had their dog chew through their favorite shoes can attest. But there is a connection, as the magazine themselves pointed out. Even Coco Chanel graced the April 1931 edition with her Great Dane, Gigot.

Today, dogs are still regularly seen as part of the fashion world. Demi Moore even brought her Chihuahua Pilaf, a Dogue cover star, to the spring 2024 Versace show in Milan. Another Vogue coverstar, Glen Powell's dog Brisket, joined his dad on his press tour for Twisters, donning the cutest little bowtie. And if you need even more proof that dogs are in style, music producer and Louis Vuitton Men's Creative Director, Pharrell Willaims, created a “Dandy Dog Walkers” collection for the fashion house.

Other celebrity pups featured in the edition are Missy Elliot's Yorkie named Fendi Dior, The Bear star Ayo Edebiri's Chihuahau Gromit, Sydney Sweeney's Pit Bull mix Tank, and singer Mariah Carey's three adorable Jack Russell Terriers Mutley, Jill E. Beans, and Cha Cha. How cute!

Each celebrity dog got their own photoshot, cover, and coverstory. So if you've ever wondered about the private life of singer Ciara's teacup Poodle here's your chance!
