Sweet Explanation for Why Dogs 'Paw' Their Humans Is So Heartwarming

This probably happens to you.

Your dog may paw you when they want your attention, when they want a treat or a snack, or when they want to play.Another reason why dogs paw their owners was posted by TikTok user @Smuckersthepitbull on August 10 and it's the sweetest reason for why dogs do this behavior ever.

Watch the following to see if this looks familiar.

Now, it should also be noted that a dog may paw you when they are experiencing pain or discomfort, but if a dog "pets" you back when you are stroking them it could be their way of expressing their attachment to you and the bond they have with you.

TikTok users have a lot of thoughts about this sweet video, and @Jen asks, "Well. What does it mean when they whack you in the face when you stop petting them?" That they probably want you to keep petting them! @P adds, "I thought she hated me and was telling me to stop now I'm sobbing for all the times she just wanted to be pet." Awww! @Ary says, "I always stopped petting my dog when he did that because I thought he wanted me to stop." @Dawn claims, "Actually they are being bossy and trying to tell you what to do. That’s why they also do it when they want other things too." That could be a reason, but considering dogs can't talk, we can't be positive of that.

There are many ways dogs show us that they love us. Wagging their tails when they see us, following us around, making eye contact with us, leaning on us or sitting on our laps, and sleeping by us. We can certainly add petting us back to the list.
