Gorilla Sweetly Attempts to Give Newborn Human 'Kisses' After Meeting at Zoo
There are lots of firsts with your child that are just so special. Their first bath, their first time eating solid food, the first time you take them to the zoo... Well, the last one might be a touch more meaningful to one family in Columbus, Ohio, because they had the coolest interaction with an adult gorilla at the zoo one day.
Mom Hannah recorded the whole thing and shared it online. We just know her baby is going to love watching this back one day.
It's one thing when you're completely enamored with your baby, but it's totally another when a gorilla seems to be entranced by your little one too. Hannah was surely taken aback when she saw the gorilla at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium staring deeply at her newborn girl. But then the most amazing thing happened — the gorilla pressed its lip towards the glass and gave the baby a sweet little kiss.
"Gorilla kisses for baby Noah," the video's caption reads.
The moment touched people online too. "That's so sweet. They're more human than you think," wrote one commenter. "Hope this Gorilla gets to experience a baby of her own. They seem to have that love as a momma. She’s so precious with your little one," another commenter added. "This is beautiful and your baby is as well. She knows that's a baby, they're just so smart. I love gorillas so much," a third person chimed in.
Animals at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
One commenter later identified the gorilla as being Mo'ana, a Western Lowland Gorilla at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. But did you know there are so many animals at the facility that are just waiting for you and your family to pay them a visit?
Of course there are other gorillas on the premises. Like Bonobos, Bornean Orangutans, and Vervet monkeys. If you're more into aquatic wildlife there is plenty to see. The facility proudly boasts a number of Florida Manatees, Harbor Seals, California Sea Lions, and Zebra Sharks — how cool!
Really there is pretty much no type of animal that the zoo doesn't have. There are African Grey Parrots, African Lions, Aldabra Tortoises, Amur Tigers, Asian Elephants, Brown Bears, and giraffes. You could even spend the afternoon with koalas or the sloths.
While not every animal will take to your child like Mo'ana did to this little one, the zoo is definitely the place for the animal lover in all of us.
