Writing is one of my several hobbies, and lists like the one below help me with writer's block every now and again.
I'll Choose Fun, Frivolous and Cute Pet Names Over Serious Ones Any Day
Coming up with cute pet names for an animal is harder than it looks; hopefully this list will help. Choosing to bring home a cute, new pet is a big deal. Not only will you have to look after it, but it will eventually look out for you as well. If you love and nurture your pet, it will quickly become a part of the family (some say pets are just as important as human family members).
Picking a name for your pet should be a joyous occasion that all of your family can take part in. While everyone will have suggestions of their own, looking up pet name suggestions online is always a popular option. Unfortunately, you sometimes have to wade through some lousy suggestions to find good names. My hope is that this article gives you a lot of solid choices, rather than ridiculous ones.
This particular list will focus on cute, fun, and lighthearted names for your pet. So, if you want a name that will put a smile on people's faces when they ask, "What's its name?" then this list should give you an advantage. Thanks for paying a visit, and enjoy.

Personal Story About a Bird
When I was young, my brother and I found a nest that had been knocked down by a storm. We took the two little baby birds we found near the nest to our Uncle and Paw where they helped us fix a box for them to stay safe. Within a couple of hours, the mother came looking for the babies and actually taught them how to fly while we watched.
We were fairly close to the whole situation, and I often wonder whether the mama bird wasn't afraid because she had seen that we had tried to take care of her babies and only wanted to keep them safe or she was worried worried enough about her babies that she just wanted to get them out of there regardless of any risk we may or may not present. Now that we're older, me and my brother have talked about the experience often and have even told our kids of the experience.
When the cure for insecurity and meaningful conversation is to slap a cell phone against your ear, hide within you iPod, or tap out a cryptic instant message, is it any wonder that we find comfort and solace in hairy, furry and scaly companions?

Tips for Naming Your New Pet
- Taking into account what kind of animal your new pet is may seem like something that people would automatically take into account, but that is not always the case. Write down on a piece of paper the characteristics of that animal and use that as a base for picking it's name.
- Color can always be taken into consideration, but if you want to be different try to be clever when using the color of your pet in it's naming. For example, say you have a black lab; instead of naming it "Shadow", try naming is something like "Darko Choco".
- The personality of your new pet should always play a part in the name-giving ritual. For example, a very active and playful pet could be named "Romp", unless you wanted to be sarcastic and go in the opposite direction.
- Take your time when coming up with a name. The one thing you don't want is to change your pets' new name after you've been calling it by that name a few days. This will only confuse them, especially if you do it more than once.
Animals are sentient, intelligent, perceptive, funny and entertaining. We owe them a duty of care as we do to children.

Exotic Pets Can Be Cool... But You'll Get Some Looks
Exotic pets can be very cute, especially when young, but you really need to do your research before getting one. The above video was quite an eye opener to me when I was thinking about getting my girlfriend a pet mini pig. As long as the book work has been done for your potential pet, feel free to jump into the wonderful world of exotic pets.
I have a few friends that have some really unusual pets, but for whatever reason, don't want to show them off in public. I can understand if their pet poses a danger or threat to others (human or animal), but if that isn't the case, then why not expose them to the public at large? Most people (and other pets) would probably get a kick out of seeing an exotic or unusual companion.

I know that both names have negative connotations, but they also have many positive ones as well. Hiroshima is quite a beautiful city today and a beacon for world peace, while Sugar Daddy is a wonderful candy that I enjoyed (a lot) during my younger years. I think both would make wonderful pet names.
Yuka on June 02, 2020:
Who in his right mind would suggest to name their Pet "Hiroshima" or "sugar Daddy" what the hell.

How about using actual french words as a name for your dog? You could use "petit", which means small or
"merci", which means thank you.
