I'm a college student and my one cat adores me. Not so much with everyone else. She will always spend time in my room when I'm home and hangs out there a lot. However, when I'm at school, she will apparently not go into my room at all. Why might this be? I'm assuming because that is our space and she feels weird being there when I'm not, but it makes me kind of sad to think that.
Cats can be fickle and very independent. I suspect your cat is in your room with you because she likes the attention you give her when you are home; but when you are not, she finds other things to do. It can be that she likes looking out other windows or the warm bed by the heater. I am sorry I can't really say which one it would be, but at least she loves being with you.
