I've had this beautiful male named Tinker. He will be two in April. He's fixed. A lot of the time, I will be relaxing on the couch watching TV and all of a sudden he is sitting and staring at me. Scares me every time. (Little bugger) so I go to reach for him and he pulls his head away. He will still sit there but want no attention. Water dishes are full, plus food and litter are fine. Why does my cat want my attention?
Cats develop behaviors that are unique to them. Your cat may simply like to sit and look at you. Another cause could be that you are lying on his spot on the couch. If it bothers you too much, try attracting his attention with a toy he likes. You can also try offering him a warm comfy cat bed on the floor near you. If none of these ideas work, I am afraid you will have to accept him and his unusual behavior.
