The Best Squirrel Names

Squirrels belong to the family of small-sized or medium-size rodents. We find squirrels in the backyard or front yard of our homes, often moving around on trees or getting inquisitive in our homes. It’s a whole lot of fun to watch squirrels go about with their antics. While it is not easy to domesticate squirrels, many people do keep them as pets. You need to be acquainted with squirrels to ensure they are not scared or disturbed by your presence.
Individuals that have pet squirrels at home give identity to their squirrels with a name. Similarly, individuals that have squirrels doing the peek-a-boo on the windows of their homes or their gardens love to call out to squirrels by name. There are different types of names you can come up with for your pet squirrel.
How to Come Up With a Name for Your Squirrel
The best way to get started is by observing squirrels. Every squirrel has a unique personality and distinctive character. Closely watching squirrels in their element can inspire you to come up with a thoughtful name. A short name is perfect for a squirrel.
When you are acquainted with a squirrel, and the squirrel recognizes you, it will respond when you call by name either by waving its tail or chirping. Squirrels may also produce a barking sound. Any of these three forms of communication may be used by squirrels when you call them by name depending on how comfortable they are with you.
A snappy or catchy name often evokes a form of response from squirrels when they recognize you. Whether it’s your pet squirrel, a squirrel in your garden, or the inquisitive little squirrel eavesdropping by your window, a name that is quirky and thoughtful in accordance with a squirrel’s personality is ideal. Let your heart decide the name you want for your squirrel; the mind will follow.
The list below showcases a diverse collection of squirrel names. In the list, you will come across cute names, macho names, female names, and creative names you can use for your bushy-tailed friend. If professional squirrel namer was a thing, it would be my dream job. Because no offense but I just don't like these names. What about Parmesean, Jelly, PB, or Marshmello? Just a few.
Riley on May 13, 2020:
How do you get them to let you pet them

Thanks for a great couple of lists. I figured I need to stop calling the squirrel in our yard, that we have fed for 4 mos. or more and now medicating (ivermectin), Mr. Squirrel. I chose "Remi" and see from googling, it is unisex so, perfect!
Minnie on December 11, 2019:
I liked the variety if names you came up with
Mickey on October 13, 2019:
