Every Good Squirrel Needs a Good Name
Squirrels are small to medium-sized rodents, and they're very cute. We might see them in our yards, often climbing trees or staring inquisitively back at us. It’s fun to watch their antics!
Can You Have a Squirrel as a Pet?
While it is not easy to domesticate squirrels, many people do keep them as pets. You need to be well-acquainted with the squirrel to ensure it is not scared of you or disturbed by your presence.
If you do have a pet squirrel, you need a name for it! Of course, you can also name the wild squirrels that visit your home—maybe you want to greet them by name when you see them playing peek-a-boo in your windows and digging up your garden. There are lots of name options for squirrels, from cute names like Chippy to funny names like Beast.
How to Come Up With a Name for Your Squirrel
The best way to get started is by observing squirrels. Every squirrel has a unique personality and a distinctive character. By watching your squirrel closely, you can find inspiration for a thoughtful name that really suits it. A name that is short, snappy, catchy, and even a little quirky is a good choice, since it'll be easy to say and to remember.
Whether you're naming your pet squirrel, a squirrel in your garden, or the nosy little squirrel eavesdropping at your window, choosing a memorable name that matches the squirrel’s personality is ideal.

Each squirrel you meet will have a unique personality. What would you name this curious little creature? Maybe Holmes?

The squirrel may use any of these three forms of communication when you call it by name, depending on how comfortable it is with you. If professional squirrel namer was a thing, it would be my dream job. Because no offense but I just don't like these names. What about Parmesean, Jelly, PB, or Marshmello? Just a few.

Thanks for a great couple of lists. I figured I need to stop calling the squirrel in our yard, that we have fed for 4 mos. or more and now medicating (ivermectin), Mr. Squirrel. I chose "Remi" and see from googling, it is unisex so, perfect!
