Farmer’s Cute Video of Highland Cows With the Zoomies Is Full of Pure Joy

If you are looking for something to brighten up your day, this video of Highland cows with the zoomies will turn your frown upside down! Adam, dad of lots of animals at Fluffy Feather Farm in Harvard, Illinois, recently shared a clip of his Miniature Scottish Highland cows happily doing zoomies in their pasture, and it’s something that I could watch all day. It also might make you want to get a pet cow!

The video starts with Adam saying that if you’ve ever wanted to see an 800-pound cow run around like a puppy, now’s the time. It’s 25 seconds of pure joy, and I bet you’ll watch it more than just once. It’s the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while!

While all of the cows are absolutely adorable, it’s the bigger cows that made me the happiest to watch run around. It’s always cute to see baby animals do this, but really, seeing such a huge animal acting like a calf again is just heartwarming!

I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. Commenters loved Fluffy Feather Farm’s video! @Sna Fu spoke for all of us when she said, “Thank you, my soul needed cow zoomies.” @laura said, “Awww, that is so sweet!! I love to see cows act like Golden Retrievers!! LOL!” @Ajimi pointed out, “It’s like one got the zoomies and the rest were like “What’s going on? Let’s go!” So cute!” @Erin Scheper asked, “Is it the snow? Cause they are like my dogs at the sign of one flake!” @Adam replied, “New pasture area! Gotta check it all out!”

Why Do Animals Get the Zoomies?

We’ve all seen our dogs and cats seem to go crazy out of nowhere and run around the house like it’s an obstacle course. We call this getting a case of the zoomies, but what it’s really called is Frenetic Random Activity Period or FRAP for short. 

Dr. Elsa Stuart of Millis Animal Hospital explains what FRAP is, “Typically, we see FRAP happen at times of transition through the day, so it might be like when their owner gets home from work, or a guest is coming over.” She added zoomies can happen before or after a meal, after being groomed or before bedtime. “They seem random to us, but I think when you think about what’s going on in your dog’s head, what they’ve encountered during that day, it might make a little more sense that they need to blow off some steam.”

Many people think that FRAP is a dog and cat thing, but believe it or not, horses, donkeys, cows and several other species are known get the zoomies. I don’t know about you, but anytime I stumble across a video of an animal with the zoomies, I always stop to watch!
